Navigating Neurodiversity
As a mother of two neurodiverse children, I know the worry, pain, and isolation experienced when you learn your child is not typical. I went from feeling amazed and excited by son’s super skills to heartbroken and powerless as I watched his isolation, disengagement, and depression grow while attending a school where his challenges overshadowed his super powers. He lost his joy, and I felt alone and scared. Through an unexpected coaching encounter with a mother of a neurodiverse son, I discovered a world of support, knowledge, options, and most importantly the comfort and wisdom I needed to move forward. I hope to now use my personal experiences and my training in coaching to help families who are navigating neurodiversity.
It will get better.
